LA-based Dyland Eiland, more commonly known as DJ/producer Le Castle Vania, is ready to release his first four-track EP on mau5trap on Monday, September 2. Having been announced by deadmau5 as the latest addition to his label, the Prophication EP is the first chapter of Le Castle Vania’s musical manifesto leading into a larger body of work in the future.

After splitting from Stupid Fresh in 2009, Chris Elliott assumed the new moniker Nom De Strip, developing his new persona and style into a sound that was hard to define. Rather than pigeonhole himself to one specific genre, Nom De Strip represents a more experimental and grassroots approach to electronic music – one that has seen the producer’s sound touch on everything from electro to disco. On his latest EP, Clouds Volume 2, Chris taps into his electro backbone to deliver three high-octane productions that are as unrelenting as they are gritty.

It’s a very different track for the mau5; dropping the tempo dramatically, the tune features Imogen Heap’s signature lyrics over deadmau5 and Imogen’s delicate melancholic instrumentation. It’s the closing track on his latest album, >album title goes here< and tells the tale of a disconnected one-sided mobile phone conversation with a lover. The perfect 21st century technological love song.

We Are Friends Vol 2 is now available at iTunes. This compilation will be the first mau5trap release via Astralwerks. As the follow up to Vol. 1, this new collection includes content from BSOD, James Njie, Kairo Kingdom, competition winner Aron H and moar from mau5 himself.
